No work will be undertaken without a signed Survey Request Form

The right is reserved to decline any survey for whatever reason and decline the boarding of a vessel where it is considered to be unstable or a danger to personal safety.

It is understood that the survey report will be a factual statement of the examination carried out within stated Limitations of Survey (below) and with opinions given in good faith as far as seen at the time of survey. It implies no particular guarantee against faulty design, or latent defect, or suitability of the vessel for a particular purpose. The liability for the survey report is solely to The Client and no other third party, unless otherwise specified.

Limitations of Survey

The following is a typical list of limitations to a typical survey details will vary from boat to boat, survey to survey.

The survey was carried out on the morning and afternoon of xxxxxx. The weather at the time of survey was sunny with intermittent showers.

The vessel was examined laid up ashore, on her trailer, undercover having been hauled out some months previously. With exception of the areas of the supports and underside of keel the external access was generally good.

The topsides, decks and under body were visually inspected, several areas, randomly located of anti-fouling were removed to allow visual inspection of the hull epoxy coating beneath and to allow moisture meter readings to be taken. Areas of the hull not examined beneath the anti-fouling or hull coating cannot be commented upon.

The use of hammer sounding/rattle roller and other tools for the detection of de-lamination and voids is generally only reliable in the detection of larger areas of de-lamination. Small voids will in all probability go undetected.

The rudder was inspected in place and not unshipped, areas hidden from view cannot be commented upon.

The mast was un-stepped, this and the rigging were visually inspected only. The extreme top of the mast was not accessible.

The water tanks, plumbing, heads, skin fittings, seacocks, etc. were visually examined in place and not removed from the vessel. Similarly the fuel tanks and fuel system were visually examined in place. General equipment commented upon in the report was visually examined in place and not removed for further inspection. No fastenings were removed for examination (unless specified) and no dismantling was undertaken to gain access other than normally removable panels. Therefore only areas of the vessel and items of equipment readily accessible have been inspected and commented upon.

The engine, stern gear and electrical system remained in place. The mechanical condition and functionality of the engine and electrical and mechanical condition of the electrical system are specifically excluded from this report.

The inspection of the gas system is limited to a visual external inspection without dismantling or testing. No "work" as defined by the Gas Safety Regulations 1994 was carried out.

This survey is not a compliance survey for the any Codes Of Practice, nor was the vessel examined to ascertain whether it complied with the RCD and CE marking requirements.

All measurements, dimensions and capacities are approximate only. A detailed investigation to confirm the age of the vessel has not been carried out. The ownership of the vessel, legal and financial status of the vessel is not commented upon.

The dimensional and numerical data given is that taken from the manufacturers specifications, either directly of via standard texts, this information has been relied upon and has not been checked for accuracy.
